Family Time runs on one escalating loop: the children grow every night, and you have to keep up. This page sticks to what official sources actually say — the Steam "About This Game" copy and dated developer devlogs — and labels the few player-reported details as such.

The loop, in the official words

The Steam page frames your job in four lines:

You're a Father Now — All of a sudden you have to take care of dozens of wolf children! Every night their number grows! Fail to do so and your partner, the Wolf Mama, will kill you! How many can you sustain?

The "will kill you" is the developer's own marketing hyperbole — read it as "the Wolf Mama's anger is the fail state," not a horror warning.

The four pillars

Shelter Your Family! — "Build houses for them, or command them to build them for you!" That second half matters: it's the official confirmation of a command system. You can work alongside your children, or put them to work.

Feed your Family! — "Farm food for them or go out hunting with them!" Two food paths: crops you grow, and hunts you join. The feeding specifics get their own page: how to make a child eat.

Pamper your Family! — "Keep them snug in their own beds to not anger the Wolf Mama!" Beds and comfort aren't decoration; they keep the Wolf Mama calm.

Scale — "Can you support 10 children? 100? 1000? 10,000?" The number ladder is the whole point: what works for a dozen pups collapses at a thousand, which is where commanding the children becomes survival.

Systems revealed so far (dated devlog timeline)

Each official devlog put a named system on the board (dates are the RSS publication dates, not the titles' internal numbering):

| Date (GMT) | Devlog | What it revealed | |---|---|---| | 2026-07-04 | Chickens and Hunger! | Chickens as prey, the hunger system | | 2026-07-10 | Uppies and Food Mechanics! | Carrying pups ("uppies"), food mechanics | | 2026-08-28 | Commands And Digging! | The command system, digging | | 2026-09-04 | Building and Sleeping! | Building, sleeping | | 2026-10-02 | Headpats and Water! | Headpats, drinking water | | 2026-10-09 | Episode 3 is out, Episode 2 is now free! | The current episode structure |

One honest limitation: these devlogs are videos — the text posts just link to them — so this hub won't invent button-level instructions the developer never wrote down.

Starting steps

  1. Get the demo from the official channels (download guide).
  2. Run the "Play Tutorial" prompt — its existence is confirmed by a first-hand player report (the developer hasn't documented it in text).
  3. Expect the first nights to be about food and beds; the scale pressure ramps from there.

For the deeper systems rundown, see gameplay systems; for where the demo ends and Early Access would begin, see Early Access & versions.
